Jetsetting

So these last couple of weeks have seriously been a little crazy. After all the career fair stuff, Jim had tons of interviews and stuff going on--plus work and school. Ew. Then we also found out that we were both going to be able to the Dominican Republic for the weekend, so life was frantic getting ready for that.

We left Salt Lake on Thursday night, spent the night in JFK, then went to Atlanta, and finally arrived at the Dominican Republic on Friday afternoon. But it was super nice! They had a VIP lounge and people who got our bags for us and everything! Then they took our group (there were maybe 10-15 of us) to the resort. It was just like Jamaica--except even more beautiful. We spent Friday afternoon exploring the resort and everything, then met up with our group for dinner at the Asian restaurant. Saturday we spent tanning, swimming, and playing volleyball. We also enjoyed lots of really good food. And I scuba-ed in the pool for a half-hour! So fun :) That night we had dinner at the Italian restaurant. We enjoyed breakfast and the sun Sunday morning, then took off for another 20 hours of travel to get home. We got back into SL at 10:30 Monday morning. Sleeping in JFK airport = no fun and soo cold!!! But we were so glad we went--a much-needed break.

Then we got home and my computer promptly broke (the reason for no blogging and all). Great. So we tried to catch up and get ready for Jim's interview in Idaho on Thursday. And in the meantime I looked for a new computer. Then on Wednesday we found out that I would be able to go with Jim to Idaho Falls, and that the company was willing to put us up in the hotel for an extra night! Sweet! So we spent Thursday frantically getting ready (taking a test that evening...) and took off late that night. It was only a few hours up there, but it was cold and icy and scary. And we were so tired--we had to switch off like every forty-five minutes! Ridiculous. So we got into the hotel about two, and the next morning, about 8:30, Jim had his interviews all day. He met with practically everyone in the company (finance side) and then called me and told me that they could meet with me for the open copywriter position--if I wanted. Well, I wanted so I drove back to the place and met with them for another three hours. So Jim was there from about 8:30-5. Crazy!!! But it was really nice to meet with a lot of people--and the company seems really great. We ate dinner Friday night at a pizza buffet place--soo good! Then drove back on Saturday.
When we got back we found out that our sink was clogged. We spent a couple hours trying to unclog it, eventually plunging it and literally blowing the sink up. So we then put the sink back together, and now it works! Yay.
PS: I didn't cover Valentine's Day! It was a crazy day since we were leaving for Idaho, but Jim made me pink waffles!

Oh you jetsetters... I wish you guys the best of luck! :) I know what it's like to be out on the job market and it is pretty tough.

We loved the pink waffles! Started a long conversation on our ride up to Oakdale. We want Jimmy to make us some too!
