Disney Service Day

Disney is doing a "Give A Day, Get A Day" where you give a day of service (they have posted service ideas and projects that need volunteers on their website), and then trade it in for a voucher for a day at one of their parks. Since we go to California all the time we figured we'd sign up and do it. We found a great opportunity to serve with Kids Against Hunger. They are an organization that packages food up and sends it to malnourished kids and families in third world countries, places that need disaster relief, and local shelters and immigrant refugee centers. It was really neat. We went for a couple of hours and we ended up packing up 47,000 meals! Crazy! It was fun and we hope that Disney leaves the service site up since it is a great place to see the local opportunities available.

That's awesome. I hadn't heard of this--we're definitely going to look into it for our family. It would be a good thing for the kids to do and then we can use the tickets when we go home for Adam's wedding. Thanks for sharing!
