Well, we survived Thanksgiving. Actually it was a ton of fun. Dinner at Grandma's was absolutely delicious. Then we drove for about 11 hours to the Highams' in Arizona. It was so sweet--all of the siblings stayed up to see us when we came in! So we didn't get to bed until about 2 or 3, then got to sleep in--so nice!

We spent two wonderful days with the family. I was so glad we made it in time to see Tami, even though we didn't see her for very long. Still, it was nice to see her and her girls (and Wes). We headed back on Sunday after sacrament meeting. The drive home took about ten and a half hours, then we watched Forever Young (interesting movie...) and fell asleep. Jimmy got a little sick so he's kind of fighting that, but otherwise we are doing great. We promised people pictures of our apartment so here they are. Sorry the tree is blurry--slow shutter speed is something I'm no good at. And the pictures don't really make the apartment look as nice as it is--it's nicer than they show, I promise! Anyway--here they are. :)

This first one is our makeshift entertainment center. It works out better than in the picture, but you can't pound too loudly around the shelves or things fall down :)

The right one is our intensely narrow bathroom. It works, but it's definitely not big by any means. But it's something we can suffer through...

This one is the wierd corner in our living room. This little piece of wall juts out just a bit, but you actually don't notice to bad. This bookcase Jim found in California, the mirror we bought for 7 dollars at a store closing sale when he was visiting this summer.

The other one is our kitchen table (unfortunately we were packing so it's covered). Jim and Adam found it and the chairs for 25! we love it. although we hardly ever eat on it because we eat in the living room almost every night.

This one is our Christmas tree and decorated window. After we got back we put stockings up on the bookshelf. We bought the tree from Target and bought some little ornaments to go with it. Yay. Christmas... :)

Then we have our kitchen! This is by far the best part of the apartment. The ceiling is actually pretty high, and although there's not much counter space there is tons of cupboard space. It's open and newly painted--with a new furnace in it that heats the apartment. (You can just see it--the black thing coming off the stove).

You can't see it below, but there are dressers on the side and at the end of the bed--so the room is bigger than it looks here. But this is our Target cover and the bed Jimmy's parents bought for us! It's soo comfortable--we love it.

This is the other side of our living room. We have a desk for studying (we usually use the couch and save the desk for extra shelf space) and one of the bookshelves (see note above :) ). You can also see the corner of our couch and our coffee table. The carpet and the paint are pretty new--last year the couple living here got them put in.

So that's our apt! we love it... :) and it's only a couple blocks from campus, so it's been really great.

Thanks for posting pictures of your apartment. It looks really cute, much better than our apartment looked when we were starving students! And sorry we missed Jim on his birthday. We figured you would be out celebrating. Enjoy that while it lasts. Once kids come along birthday get pushed to the side alittle. Of course, I have never been one to put much effort into birthday, so you may still be able to enjoy them. Who knows. Good luck with finals!
